Mark Stickells leads the Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre, critical national research infrastructure located in Perth, WA. Pawsey’s high performance computing and data services support Australian researchers and international radioastronomy projects including the multinational Square Kilometre Array. Pawsey’s exascale-class system, Setonix, named after WA’s quokka, is the Southern Hemisphere’s most powerful, energy efficient supercomputer.
An experienced research and industry executive, and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and Australian Institute of Management, Mark has led joint ventures between universities, CSIRO and industry delivering national and international research and education programs for Australia’s key energy, resources and agricultural sectors. Mark is a member of CEO’s for Gender Equity and advocate for diversity and inclusion initiatives in his professional and personal life.
