On almost every AI-observability adoption metric in this survey, Asia-Pacific organisations are moving faster than the rest of the world. But that speed carries a cost: the average high-impact outage in Asia-Pacific now costs an estimated $2.2 million against $1.8 million globally. This region also reports the most frequent and slowest to resolve high-impact outages in the world.
This regional edition of the State of Observability 2026 explores the 950 Asia-Pacific respondents in this year’s global survey, the single largest regional sample in the study, ahead of the Americas (875), Europe (650), and the Middle East (100), and adds country-level research insights for Australia and New Zealand, India, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and Japan.
Beyond the survey data itself, this edition draws on independent regional research and recent public incidents to ground the numbers in what’s actually happening in each market: India’s 2025 UPI payment-system outages, Japan’s long-running “digital cliff” legacy-systems problem, and Southeast Asia’s e-Conomy digital growth data.
