ECU Executive Dean of School of Science
I am currently the Executive Dean of the School of Science at Edith Cowan University, a role I commenced in January of 2016. I have previously held leadership roles such as Head of School, Course Coordinator and chaired various committees.
In my leadership role at ECU, I have a strong commitment to quality teaching, engaged research and a focus on expanding international partnerships. I believe strongly in ECUs values, particularly those of integrity and respect. I am a strong supporter of gender equality, and I actively support projects which aim to increase inclusivity in the STEM subjects. I also support this goal through my role on the Athena SWAN steering committee at ECU.
My research has been focused on cyber security for the last 15 years, focusing initially on wireless network security, expanding to digital forensics and then to cyber security policy and risk management. Concurrently, I have consulted to industry and government on a range of cyber security related projects, and am regularly invited to speak on cyber security at National and International Conferences and Events.
I hold the degrees of Bachelor of Science (Hons), Doctor of Philosophy and the Graduate Certificate of Tertiary Teaching. I am also a certified professional member of the Australian Computer Society MACS(CP).
