Ser Yoong

Ser Yoong is an Information Technology and Cybersecurity professional with various years of experience comprising of both commercial and consulting perspective in Information Security, Compliance and Risk Management as well as Fraud. He was formerly managing the AirAsia BIG Loyalty Programme as the Head of IT Security whereby he is responsible of managing the enterprise IT security end to end as well as fraud management within the programme.

Prior to that, he was affiliated with Standard Chartered Global Business Services as a Senior Manager whereby he is responsible of managing IT assets security risks and compliance as well as third party security risk assessments. He has also held the position of a Senior IT Security Manager in British American Tobacco(BAT), responsible for IT security risk management and reporting, incident management and compliance and before joining BAT, he was an Assistant Manager in PwC Malaysia with garnered experience that includes conducting penetration testing exercises, various technical security reviews and information assurance engagements.

He has both spoken and organized conferences and participated in security roundtables in Malaysia and also regional level on the areas of cybersecurity, information security and governance. Besides serving as one of the Student Ambassadors for University of London since graduation, Ser Yoong is also an active member of professional associations such as the Information Systems Audit and Controls Association (ISACA) where he is currently serving in the Board of Directors for the ISACA Malaysia Chapter as the chapter Vice President. He presently has great interest in the areas of risk & compliance, fraud management, cloud security, third party security risk as well as incident response and handling.
