As the Middle East region’s energy and utility industries are digitalising their assets, they have become exposed to cyber threats more than ever before. In fact, in the past years, the region has been and continue to be a strategic target to cyber-attacks and 50% of these attacks are on the energy industry. These threats are magnified by the speed at which technologies continue to evolve and by the fact that cyber attackers continue to adapt their tactics, techniques, and procedures to evade and defeat the latest prevention and response measures.
Building on the success of the first edition, the 2nd Cyber Security in Energy and Utilities DigiConference will be organized on 2 March 2021 to further contribute to develop cyber resilience of the region’s energy and utility sectors and provide an annual meeting platform for industry experts to meet and share knowledge, explore latest updates on global best practices, and advance their cyber security skills and standards.
