CYDES 2025, the 3rd edition of Malaysia’s National Cyber Defence & Security Exhibition and Conference, will be held from 1st to 3rd July 2025 at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), Malaysia. Hosted by the Government of Malaysia’s Prime Minister’s Department, National Security Council (NSC), and National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA), and co-organised by Alpine Integrated Solution Sdn. Bhd. (AIS). CYDES 2025 will become a regional cyber security platform expending beyond national effort for cyber security community to address emerging threats, showcase cutting-edge innovations, and foster international collaboration. With Malaysia assuming the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025, CYDES 2025 is positioned as a pivotal event to drive collective action against cyber threats and reinforce Malaysia’s leadership in regional cyber security initiatives.

Themed “Advancing Cyber Resilience,” CYDES 2025 underscores the critical need for proactive and adaptive cyber security strategies. As cyber threats continue to evolve, resilience is essential not only for preventing cyberattacks but also for ensuring rapid recovery and maintaining operational continuity. The event will highlight the importance of forward-thinking approaches, technological advancements, and cross-sector collaboration to strengthen cyber security on national, regional, and global levels. CYDES 2025 will facilitate dialogue between policymakers, industry leaders, and security experts to develop innovative solutions and establish robust frameworks for future cyber challenges.

The scale of CYDES 2025 reflects its significance in the global cyber security landscape, with 7,816 sqm of utilised space (sqm), 200 participating organisations, and representation from 5 countries. The event is expected to attract 8,000 trade visitors, including key government officers, 50 foreign VIP delegations, and 1,200 conference delegates. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the latest cyber security solutions, technical products, training services, live demonstrations, and thought-provoking tech talks from leading global industry players.

A key highlight of CYDES 2025 is its dual-conference programme, featuring the third series of The ASEAN Cyber Security Forum 2025 and Malaysia Cyber Security Strategy Forum 2025. These conferences will bring together distinguished speakers and thought leaders to discuss pressing issues such as Cyber Security Act 2024 [Act 854], Cyber Security Capacity Building, Computer Security Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) Cooperation, AI Governance, Quantum-Resistant Cryptography, Cyber Security Resilience and Crisis Management, Cyber Security Diplomacy and Advancing Norms, Operational Technology (OT) Security and Cybercrime Act. Official ceremonies, including the Opening Ceremony officiated by YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, represented by YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister I of Malaysia, held on the first day will launch the Malaysia Cyber Security Strategy (MCSS) 2025 – 2030 and CYDES 2025. The Closing Ceremony by Tan Sri Shamsul Azri bin Abu Bakar, Chief Secretary to the Government on the final day, will underscore the event’s significance at the highest levels of government. Additionally, a significant MoU Signing Ceremony will further strengthen regional and international cyber security cooperation.

CYDES 2025 will also host critical bilateral and multilateral meetings, including the ASEAN Cyber Leaders Roundtable, ASEAN-Australia Cyber Dialogue and Malaysia-Japan Cyber Dialogue. These high-level discussions aim to promote information sharing, enhance collaborative strategies, and address the evolving cyber threat landscape across borders.

NACSA will also host several specialised workshops during CYDES 2025, including a workshop on Strengthening Malaysia’s Cybercrime Framework: Aligning with the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime and United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, Workshop on ASEAN Cyber Security Strategy Development and OT Cyber Security Workshop. These workshops will provide in-depth insights into global best practices, legal frameworks, and regional strategy development to tackle the most pressing cyber security challenges.

To nurture talent development and cross-border cyber security collaboration, CYDES 2025 will feature interactive cyber capacity-building initiatives. These include the ASEAN MY CyberHero 2025 programme, Capture the Flag (CTF) competition and advanced cyber security training exercises. These initiatives aim to cultivate a new generation of cyber security professionals and reinforce regional capabilities in mitigating cyber threats.

CYDES 2025 is not just a conference and exhibition—it is a global movement towards strengthening cyber resilience and fostering digital trust. By bringing together key stakeholders from government, industry, and academia, CYDES 2025 will play a crucial role in shaping the future of cyber defence, governance, and regional security strategies.
