A significant expansion of the CMMI Model, CMMI AIM includes AI-related content across all 31 CMMI Practice Areas, with nearly 50 percent of practices containing AI context-specific additions. It also includes a new benchmark view through the lens of CMMI AIM focused on eight integrated domains:
- Data: Robust data management infrastructure and governance, from data lineage to data quality, to drive reliable AI outcomes and solutions
Development: The design, development and use of high-quality AI solutions aligned with customer needs and expectations - People: Preparing and enabling the workforce to embrace AI through alignment to organisational business objectives
- Safety: Solution-level and societal safety in AI interventions, mitigating severity and likelihood of AI-related harm
- Security: Secure use of AI platforms and tools to enhance stakeholder confidence
- Services: Delivery of superior service quality to customers within AI-as-a-Service business models and through integration of AI across existing and new service delivery ecosystems
- Suppliers: Building an effective and efficient AI partnership ecosystem to deliver consistent value to end users
- Virtual: Effective virtual collaboration through robust infrastructure to deliver cohesive outcomes across AI solution development and usage
