Newly appointed Space Industry CEO calls for National Space Taskforce

The Space Industry Association of Australia (SIAA) newly appointed chief executive officer Dan Lloyd outlines the 2025-2026 Pre-Budget Submission made by SIAA and the call for an Australian National Space Taskforce to monitor and respond to national and global space activities and
articulate a structured national approach to space.

Lloyd brings 20 years of global and Australian experience in a wide range of senior leadership roles across the private sector and government, including as Vodafone Group’s public policy director for Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific, head of regulatory of Vodafone India in Mumbai, chief strategy officer and corporate affairs director of Vodafone Australia, senior adviser to the Communications Minister Michelle Rowland, and senior associate at Gilbert + Tobin Lawyers.

We speak to Dan on the sidelines of Southern Space 2025, SIAA’s annual member conference, held as part of the Avalon Australia International Airshow. Australia in Space were proud media partners to Avalon and Southern Space.
