We speak with Jason Price, President and CEO for Australia & New Zealand for NEC Corporation at the Canalys Channel Forum APAC 2023 in Bangkok, a hub for industry leaders and innovators. Price provided insights into NEC Australia’s diverse portfolio and the organization’s approach to staying ahead in the ever-evolving technology landscape.

NEC, a globally renowned Fortune 500 company, engages in various sectors, including submarine cables, facial recognition, managed services, and more. In Australia, the focus lies on managed services, smart transport, biometrics, facial recognition, wireless display screens, and unified communications.

“As an organization, NEC is 125 years old and has completely reinvented itself several times. We need to constantly make sure that we’re looking for new opportunities,” said Price. He highlighted the importance of exploring new avenues and opportunities as the industry experiences rapid changes.

Price also acknowledges the central theme around cybersecurity in contemporary discussions. He noted that cybersecurity has transcended IT departments and become a crucial business decision, with boards taking responsibility for breaches. Price emphasized the importance of staying on top of security measures and ensuring the organization possesses the necessary skills to provide comprehensive solutions to clients.
