Smarter City Solutions (SCS) is an established Australian software and technology services organisation that is leading the way with integrated parking systems.

The company is delivering award winning parking solutions derived from interconnected cloud-based technologies using its own pay-by-app and virtual permit systems as well as vCompliance for infringement issuance and systems from other leading parking technology providers.

SCS is on a mission to develop software and systems that enable parking providers to enable a better experience of parking and administrative infrastructure for their staff and stakeholders.

They have won numerous awards for their work including the ‘Excellence in Innovation and Technology for On Street Parking” at the 2020 Parking Industry awards last month.

ABOUT MICHAEL DOHERTY
Michael Doherty has been at the forefront of parking technology for close to a decade, having worked with many of the businesses behind Australia’s leading parking and payment apps and cloud-based permit and compliance technologies. As Head of Business Development for Smarter City Solutions, he oversees the sales and marketing of unique integrated parking solutions for local councils, universities and corporate clients all over Australia.

Michael was the first employee at Smarter City Solutions when it launched as CellOPark in 2013. He joined as General Manager following roles with Secure Parking and Parkmobile, growing the company’s client base tenfold in its first three years and bringing software development and customisation in-house to further broaden the product set and establish CellOPark as a market leader.

In 2017 Michael took on the role of Director of Sales and Marketing at parking availability app UbiPark, before moving on to global data-driven provider of city solutions SenSen. As Director of Operations at SenSen, Michael implemented leading edge license plate recognition technologies for clients including Smarter City Solutions.

Michael returned to Smarter City Solutions (which changed its name from CellOPark two years earlier) in 2020 as Head of Business Development. Where in the early days of the business Michael was focused on educating the market on how smartphone apps and other technologies could be applied to parking, now the focus is on how Smarter City Solutions finds and implements sophisticated integrated parking solutions that meet the unique needs of each client.

Multi-disciplined with a solid, 25-year strong track record in information technology, Michael embraces disruptive technology and looks forward to a future where parking permit stickers and coin-fed meters are a thing of the past.
